Southpaw

"Fight scenes here are more realistic, and while there is a certain amount of melodrama, the fall and redemption, it is a good story and worth the view."

This movie was decent. At first I hated Gyllenhaal’s character. I could not care less for him and the way he acted, but once his life fell apart he became much more interesting. Boxing movies have saturated the industry. The stories are all so similar. I even thought the new Creed was just “ok” (that review is coming later). That one, and Southpaw are essentially a retelling of the Rocky story. However, fight scenes here are more realistic, and while there is a certain amount of melodrama, the fall and redemption, it is a good story and worth the view.
